About Pinky Gonzales
After selling the company to Ticketmaster in 2007, he went on to become an award-winning adjunct professor at Belmont University for his course in brand development and digital strategies, and has been an active investor and advisor to more than 25 startups throughout the country.
Gonzales is now bringing the lessons he has learned along the way to the public with a series of workshops and presentations that illuminate the art of personal branding, career development, community management, digital marketing and succeeding on your own terms.
Featured on Marketplace from American Public Media, Billboard Magazine, Forbes.com and numerous regional publications, Pinky has also made appearances at George Fox University, Baylor University, Vanderbilt University, University of Tennessee, Oregon State University, Southern Illinois University and many small business trade associations and chambers of commerce.
His latest venture, Upriver Solutions, is a strategic marketing consultancy based in Portland, OR and caters to companies both large and small. He is also a mentor-in-residence at the Portland Incubator Experiment (PIE), a startup accelerator cofounded by Weiden + Kennedy, the largest privately held ad agency in the world, and sponsored by Coca Cola, Google, Nike and Intel. Since 2011, PIE-incubated companies have raised more than 25 million dollars and have a collective valuation well in excess of $150M.
