Tyler Cuddeford serves as director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program after working as a physical therapist, instructor and business owner. During his five-year stint as a researcher at Nike, Cuddeford helped develop innovative products, including the Nike Shox and Nike Air Shox shoes. His doctorate in physical therapy (with an emphasis in biomechanics) and background as a physical therapist were instrumental in helping Nike develop products that didn’t cause injuries to the sporting goods manufacturer’s high-profile athletes, among them Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony.
Cuddeford, who holds a PhD in physical therapy from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree in physical therapy from Pacific University, also worked as a graduate assistant instructor in Iowa’s physical therapy program from 1996 to 2000.

Paul Shew has more than 30 years of experience as a physical therapist, including 28 years as a physical therapist for Providence Home Health Division in Portland and seven of these years as a Rehabilitation Coordinator for Providence/St. Vincent Home Health in Portland. He holds a doctor of physical therapy degree from Pacific University (2009), a certificate of physical therapy and a bachelor's degree of science from Pacific University (1981) and a bachelor’s degree of science and math from Southern Oregon State College (1979).

Kathie Hummel-Berry has more than 30 years experience in the physical therapy field, during which she's served as both a practitioner and educator. For the past three years, Kathie was a contracted physical therapist for Therapists Unlimited, working mostly in rural home health settings all over western Washington. And, for 27 years, she taught the discipline at the University of Puget Sound, directing that school’s physical therapy program from 1995 to 2009. Kathie holds three degrees from the University of Washington: a PhD in epidemiology (2001), an MEd in higher education (1978) and a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy (1975).

Marcey Keefer Hutchison has worked the past 14 years as the clinical director of Therapeutic Associates, Valley Physical Therapy in Keizer, and was also a shareholder in the company. Marcey directed the athletic training program for the Salem-Keizer school district for six years. She also has work experience in a hospital setting, serving as a director in the sports medicine department of the Salem Hospital Regional Rehabilitation Center in the mid-1990s. In the early 1990s, she was a staff physical therapist specializing in sports medicine at Reed and Yates Physical Therapy in Portland. Marcey holds a doctor of physical therapy degree from Northeastern University (2012), a master's degree in physical therapy from Pacific University (1991) and a bachelor's degree in physical education from Willamette University (1988).
Andrew Meszaros, PhD, PT

Dr. Meszaros has been a licensed physical therapist for more than 20 years, having worked in a variety of clinical settings. At the University of Iowa, he completed a PhD (1998) and NIH post-doctoral fellowship (1999) in the College of Medicine's Injury Prevention Research Center. Dr. Meszaros came to George Fox from the University of Toledo Department of Neuroscience, where he taught DPT, PhD and MD student courses in gross anatomy, neuroscience, neuro-rehabilitation and biomechanics. He is a Fulbright Scholar and recipient of several awards for excellence in teaching and professional service. Dr. Meszaros has served as manuscript reviewer for publications such as Journal of Applied Physiology, Journal of Neurophysiology, and Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy. Kathy Weiss, MD

Dr. Weiss has significant experience in teaching and curriculum development, implementation and delivery, and evaluation. Over the last eight and a half years, she has taught a number of basic science courses at George Fox, including advanced human anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, exercise physiology and pharmacology. She has contemporary expertise is these assigned areas. Her academic qualifications include an MD from USC School of Medicine in 1978. She is also board-certified in internal medicine.
